Clues To Go   -    Kent villages, out of Cranbrook

Even in the crowded south-east corner of England you can get away from the hustle & bustle of modern city life & spend an afternoon in rolling countryside, winding lanes & quiet villages & hamlets. On this route you'll also have your fill of Oast Houses but learn something of the area's history on your way.

The route starts in the busy town of Cranbrook, but the questions don't start until you reach the first of the villages, Sissinghurst. After that the route stays with the quietest of country lanes, stopping off on the way at Headcorn & then the historic village of Charing. Before you reach the conclusion in Smarden you pass through the most haunted village in England & stop by the remains of a village church destroyed by a doodlebug in the Second World War.
