Clues To Go   -     Edinburgh, Royal Mile Picture Quiz

This Clues To Go route starts at the Castle Esplanade (the location every August for the famous Edinburgh Tatoo), goes down Lawnmarket, the High Street & Cannongate, finishing outside the Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood. The route is all downhill.

All the questions include a picture for you to identify on your journey down the Royal Mile - no cryptic questions here.

The Royal Mile is actually several streets joining up with each other and were the original centre of Edinburgh’s old city, so history is to be found along every stretch and down every side street.

Leading off the main streets are a multitude of Closes & Courts - each with its own story to tell.

If you are coming from outside the city by train, then you will probably alight at Waverley Station, by Princes Street. Its then a 20 minute walk to the start of the route, with an  up-hill climb from Princes St Gardens to the Castle.

Car parks for the Castle, Princes St & Holyrood are signposted as you approach.
